News catchup

Posted by Jeffrey Lee on 00:19, 19/4/2004 | ,

Here's a brief roundup of what's happened while we've been away. And if you think there's anything we've missed, please let us know!

New Angband versions

Regular as clockwork, there are some updated Angband ports on Antony "ajps" Sidwell's website.

  • NPPAngband 0.3.4 (6th April)

  • Animenand 0.5.4 (6th April)
You can download them and many more here.

Brain Games at Wakefield '04

Brain Games have updated their website to say that they'll be making an appearance at the Wakefield show this year, and will be offering a special compendium CD containing copies of their Tiles and Solitaire games (Both of which can be downloaded in various abriged/freeware versions from their website). They'll also be showing off their card game Vingt et Un, which like their other games will work fine on RISC OS 5.

SkullSoft and Soft Rock Software: RIP?

It's come to our attention that the websites for both SkullSoft and Soft Rock Software have gone Missing In Action. Server problems? Forgot to pay their webhost? Alien conspiracy? You decide.

Unregistered user Well spotted with software houses JL. That would be a shame. I really liked Skullsofts games.

Unregistered user Ack!

The machine serving softrock.co.uk went down, and the domain was pointed at another machine. The hosts were planning some changes which would mean it would go down again, so I only uploaded a temporary page. Then the machine serving softrock.co.uk went down again (same problem as the first, apparently) and I completely forgot about the temporary page until reading this article. Whoops.
